Cline and Roo Code
Use ai.ml from the Cline and Roo Code VS Code extensions as an OpenAI-compatible provider.
Both extensions have an OpenAI Compatible API provider. Open the extension's settings, choose it, and fill in:

Then set the model's Context Window and Max Output Tokens from the same list, so the extension trims history at the right point.
- Both send
stream_options.include_usage, and for some modelsmax_completion_tokens. ai.ml accepts both on every model. - Both send native tool calls. The model you pick has to support tools;
GET /v1/modelssays so incapabilities.tools. - Roo Code's repository was archived on 2026-05-15, and its last release (3.54) is what's left. Cline is still maintained.
