Preferences and announcements
Choose the console's language and display currency for your browser, and read and dismiss announcements.
Two choices in the top bar change how the console looks to you: the language and the display currency. Both belong to your browser. They are not organization settings, so two people in the same organization can each use their own, and nothing you choose changes what a teammate sees.
Because a choice is kept in the browser, it does not follow you to another browser or device, and a private window may not remember it after you close it.
Language
The Language selector in the top bar lists the languages the console is available in, each written in its own language: English, Hindi and Simplified Chinese. Choose one and the console changes at once.
Until you choose, the console picks a language for you in this order:
- the language of the reseller's storefront, when you use the console on a reseller's own domain;
- your browser's preferred languages;
- English.
Some text stays as it is in every language:
- text that comes from the server, such as error messages, names and statuses;
- code snippets and ids;
- acronyms and product names.
The body of each legal document is in English.
Display currency
The Display currency selector shows amounts in another currency for your convenience. It appears in the top bar when reference rates are available.
- The first option is your organization's billing currency, marked (billing). Choose it to show amounts exactly as they are billed.
- The other options are marked with an approximately-equal sign. Choose one and amounts across the console are shown as approximate figures in that currency.
A converted amount is indicative only. It uses daily reference rates, not the rate applied to any payment.
- Hover a converted amount to see the exact billing figure.
- Prices per million tokens keep their US dollar figure and gain an approximate line beneath it, because models are priced in US dollars.
- Hover the selector to see the source and the date of the rates.
Nothing that is charged, quoted or invoiced uses these rates. Your top-ups, your balance and your invoices stay in your billing currency. See credits and invoices.
When the newest rates are more than 7 days old, the date of the rates is shown beside the selector.
Announcements
If your organization is the customer of a reseller, the reseller can post announcements. An active announcement appears as a banner at the top of every console screen, with a title and a short text. A warning is shown in amber, and other notices in blue.
Press Dismiss to hide an announcement. It stays hidden in this browser, also after you reload the console, and it stops appearing altogether once the reseller's announcement is no longer active.
Resellers write announcements from their own console. See reselling ai.ml.
Other notices at the top of the console
A few banners are not preferences and cannot be dismissed:
- A notice that legal documents are waiting for acceptance. See data policy.
- A notice that the organization is suspended. The console is then read-only except for billing and support.
- A notice that ai.ml support is viewing your organization in a read-only session.
