Daily reconciliation
Tie your balance to your usage day by day, and export the report as CSV.
The Reconciliation screen is the report to give your finance team. For each day it sets your account statement, taken from the ledger, against the record of that day's requests, and shows the difference between the two.
Open it from the Daily reconciliation link above the ledger on the Credits screen. Back to credits returns you there.
The report covers the whole organization. Days are UTC days.
Choose the range
- Set From (UTC) and To (UTC) to any two dates, or
- press a preset: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month or Last month.
A range can be at most 92 days. The range is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark or share the link.
Read the report
Each row is one day. The last row, Total, covers the whole range.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Day (UTC) | The day. |
| Opening | The balance at the start of the day. |
| Added | Credit that came in: top-ups, grants, plan credits and the like. |
| Charged | What your requests were charged that day. |
| Other debits | Everything else that left the balance, such as plan fees and refunds. |
| Closing | The balance at the end of the day. |
| Recorded usage | The cost of that day's requests as the usage record has it. |
| Requests | How many requests the usage record has for the day. |
| Variance | Charged minus Recorded usage. A non-zero variance is highlighted. |
The statement columns, from Opening to Closing, come from the ledger and are always exact.
What a variance means
The two sides are counted by different clocks. A charge is counted on the day it was booked, and a request on the day it started. A request that runs across midnight, or is settled a few seconds after its day ends, therefore shows as a small variance on one day and the opposite amount on the next.
Look at the Total row. Over a range, these pairs cancel out. If the total variance does not come to zero over a range that ends a day or more ago, send the range and the figures to support.
When usage figures are missing
The usage side comes from analytics, which can lag or be unavailable. The screen tells you which:
- An amber banner reading "analytics delayed", with a number of seconds, means the usage columns may be behind. It appears when the delay is over a minute.
- A note that analytics are unavailable means Recorded usage, Requests and Variance are empty for now. The statement columns are still exact. Reload later for the rest.
If nothing happened in the range, the screen reads "Nothing moved in this range", with a link to top up.
